Ruth C. Thunberg, 96, Worth Street, Reynoldsville, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014, at her residence.
Born Feb. 24, 1918, in DuBois, she was the daughter of the late Anton and Jennie Pearson Thunberg.
Ruth retired from Bell of Pennsylvania after 33 years of service. After retirement, she enjoyed babysitting for various families in the area.
She was a life member of the former Trinity Lutheran Church in DuBois, a member of the Bell Telephone Pioneers, and the American Bible Society.
Ruth was cared for by her grandson, R. Thomas Shepherd.
She is also survived by three other grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and her special niece and nephew, Sandra McCauslin and Robert McCauslin.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Joy Shepherd; two sisters, Esther McCauslin and Lorraine Frick; and two brothers, Morris and Marvin Thunberg.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014, at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home, DuBois.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, at the funeral home with Pastor Andy Cressman officiating.
Burial will follow in Morningside Cemetery.
