Sheridan A. Thompson (1926 - 2015)

Sheridan Allison Thompson, 88, of Brookville, died Monday, Oct. 19, 2015, at home surrounded by his family.
He was born Dec. 30, 1926, in Sagamore, a son of the late James E. Thompson and Norma V. (Davis) Thompson.
Sheridan was a member of the Richardsville Baptist Church.
On Sept. 12, 1947, he married the former Eileen Fox. She survives and resides in Brookville.
Mr. Thompson was a veteran of the United State Army.
He was employed by the Arundel Corporation in Severn, Md., as a supervisor until his retirement in 1994 when he moved to Munderf, Pa. He belonged to the Operating Engineers Union Local #137.
Mr. Thompson was a Mason belonging to the Hobah Lodge in Brookville. In his spare time he loved to farm.
Sheridan was a dedicated husband and father. His biggest enjoyment was his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Eileen, he is survived by two daughters, Vicki Shorter and husband David of West Virginia; Lori Burkindine and husband Mitchell of Pasedna, Md.; two sons, Ronald Thompson and wife Linda of Pickens, S.C.; and Dennis Thompson of Arnold, Md.; one sister, Esther Knapp and husband Glenn of Brookville; three brothers, James Thompson and wife Mary Kay of Richardsville, Pa.; John Thompson and wife Pauline of Richardsville, Pa.; and Kenneth Thompson and wife Hazel of Munderf, Pa.; five grandchildren, Nicole Wright and husband Ernie of York, Pa.; Christopher Shorter and wife Amanda of Maryland; Jeremy Thompson of Arnold, Md.; Tiffany Justice and husband Simon of Md.; and Michael Thompson of Easley, S.C.; and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Sylvester Thompson; and a sister, Norma Thompson.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015, at the Brenda D. Shumaker Funeral Home Inc., Brookville.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, at the Richardsville Baptist Church, Richardsville, Pa., officiated by Pastor Robert M. Lindemuth.
Interment will follow at Richardsville Baptist Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mr. Thompson's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project.
