Steve M. Grill, 52, of Sher De Lin Road, DuBois, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, surrounded by his family at his home after a tough-fought battle with pancreatic cancer.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Shelly, who was by his side every step of the fight.
Steve and Shelly are avid pet lovers and rescued many, including their recent dog Budweiser, a North American Growler.
Steve was employed by Rosebud Mining at the Penfield Lady Jane Cleaning Plant at the time of his death, and Rosebud was wonderful to Steve until the very end despite his long illness.
Steve was an avid fisherman and loved anything outdoors. He was a lifetime lover of airplanes and now leaves the burden of his earthly body to soar among the clouds himself while watching over his loved ones he left behind.
He is also survived by his mother, Bonnie Grill of Reynoldsville; his father, Anthony Grill of Ohio; two brothers, Dan (Betsy) Grill of Penfield and Mike Grill; a sister, Cindy of Sabula; and many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and in-laws, who all loved him for his love of life and his full spirit and depended upon him for anything that needed to be done.
There are no scheduled services at this time. The Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway is in charge of arrangements. A Memorial Mass will be scheduled in the future at the family's convenience.
Memorial donations may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Society, Disabled American Veterans of America or the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Online condolences may be left at csfhinc.com.
