Thelma Blanche Molek, 97, DuBois, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, at Christ the King Manor.
Born Feb. 21, 1920, in Rockton, she was the daughter of the late George and Hannah (Bloom) Seyler.
On July 2, 1949, she married John W. Molek in Indiana, Pa. He preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 2005.
Blanche graduated from Sandy High School in 1936 and later the Indiana Hospital School of Nursing. She worked for Sylvania Electric and was an RN at both Maple Avenue Hospital and the Indiana Hospital. Blanche was a former member of the Church of the Brethren and was Protestant by faith. She loved to garden, knit, read, sew, and can food. Blanche especially loved spending time with her family and friends.
Blanche is survived by her three daughters, Debra Molek, Ammon, Idaho, Judy Molek, DuBois, and Christine (Richard) Reidy, Harrisburg; two grandchildren, Melissa (Alex) Kurmakov and Brandon Reidy; three great-grandchildren, Grant, Max, and Reid Kurmakov; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the last member of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and her siblings: Kathleen Rudert, Mildred Brown, Mary Ann Waddington, Grace Boor, Eva Seyler, and Lloyd, William, George, John, and Samuel Seyler.
Friends and family will be received Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Adamson Funeral Chapel, Inc., DuBois. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 1 p.m. at the funeral chapel with LaMarr Adamson CLP officiating. Interment will be in Rockton Cemetery.
