Thomas D. Berquist, 71, of Arbutus Lane, New Bloomfield, Pa., died on Friday, Sept. 2, 2016, at his Centre Twp. home.
Born Feb. 13, 1945, in San Francisco, Calif., he was the son of the late Robert and Evelyn (Blakney) Berquist.
He was a Navy veteran, a retired electrical engineer who had been employed by the former United Telephone/Sprint.
He was a Penn State fan and enjoyed his dogs, cats, his children and grandchildren.
He was a member of VFW Post 813, Dubois, Pa., and was a lifelong HAM (amateur radio) operator.
Surviving are his loving wife of 49 years, Barbara (Pody) Berquist; two sons, Lance Berquist of Lewistown and wife Charlotte and children Caleb and Emma, Errol Peddled of England and children Callie and Megan; a daughter, Dawn Clouse of New Bloomfield and husband Lucas and children Han, Marc and TJ; a brother, Robert Berquist of Dubois.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016, in the Boyer Family Funeral Home, 101 W. Main St., New Bloomfield. Burial, with full military honors provided by the Perry County Honor Guard, will be in Bloomfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
