Thomas E. Deutsch, 59, of Gibsonia, Pa., died May 9, 2016, after a brief but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Beloved husband for 29 years of Rebecca (McDonald) Deutsch. Dear son of Rudolph and Evaline (Neubauer) Deutsch. Loving father of Carrie E. Deutsch and Andrew T. Deutsch. Brother of Michael (Carol) Deutsch, James (Patti) Deutsch, Richard (Michelle) Deutsch, Susan (William) Leeson, and Steven (Susan) Deutsch. Son in-law of Jean McDonald. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Schellhaas Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown. Additional visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 1965 Ferguson Road, Allison Park, where services will follow at 2 p.m.
Tom earned his bachelor's in chemical engineering from Lehigh University and master's in business administration from Georgia State University. He went on to a long and successful career with PPG Industries from 1979-2013 and recently was vice president of supply chain operations for Axiall Corporation. He was very active with his church and within the community, especially while raising his two children. Tom's life revolved around faith, family and co-workers and he was beloved by all who had the privilege of being around him. He will be dearly missed.
