Walter E. Nichols, 85, Brockway, passed away Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, after a short illness.
He was born June 30, 1931, in Westville, Pa., son of the late Dewey and Gladys (Senior) Nichols. He was married to Norma (Carrier) Nichols, who survives in Brockway.
Walter was a corporal in the Army having served from 1948-1952. He had worked with Millwrights and Pile Drivers Local Union #2235 in Pittsburgh.
Walter attended the Church of God in Brockway. He was a past member of the Masonic Temple in St. Marys. He loved automobiles.
Walter is also survived by two children, Thomas Nichols of Treasure Lake and Colette Cooper of Texas; a sister, Helen (Ronald) Bishop of Falls Creek; two brothers, Donald Nichols of Warren and Fred (Josephine) Nichols of Westville; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents; son, David Nichols; grandson, Jeffrey Ross; and a sister, Alice Hoffman.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
