Wayne A. Shobert Jr., 94, DuBois, went to be with his Lord and Savior at DuBois Nursing Home on Sunday, April 26, 2015.
Born April 3, 1921, in DuBois, he was the son of the late Wayne and Clara Stormer Shobert.
He graduated from DuBois High School, and was a veteran of World War II having served in the Marine Corps. He worked for the B & O Railroad as a machinist out of Punxsutawney and Cumberland, Md., until retiring.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise; sons, Robert and wife, Mary Ellen, and Mark and wife, Susan; grandsons: Todd Shobert and wife, Jennifer, and Christopher Thomas; granddaughter, Amy and husband, Anthony Rebyanski; four great-grandchildren; four sisters-in-law: Patricia, Dorothy, Janet Shobert, and Virginia Griffith; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Bennett and Sarah Moore; and four brothers, Jack, Bill, Dick and Sam.
Friends and family are invited to the Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel Inc., DuBois, from 2-6 p.m. Thursday, April 30, 2015, and from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday, May 1, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 1, 2015, at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Montgomery officiating. Interment will be at Morningside Cemetery. Full military honors will be accorded by the DuBois Area Honor Guard.
