Wayne E. Cuneo Jr., 83, of Madison Street, Byrnedale, died Friday, June 13, 2014, at his brother's home in St. Marys after a lengthy illness.
Born Aug. 7, 1930, in St. Mary's,he was a son of the late Wayne E. and Mary Keller Cuneo Sr.
On Aug. 7, 1971, he was married to Dolores DeCarli. She preceded him in death in September 2012
He is survived by one daughter, Denise Cuneo and her husband Stacey Snyder of Byrnedale; one granddaughter, Elodie Snyder; two brothers, Gerald Cuneo and Edward Cuneo, both of St. Marys; and one sister, Mary Jane Eynon of Daguscahonda.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Henrietta, and two infant brothers, Charles and Jacob.
He was a 1949 graduate of St. Mary's High School who worked with Stackpole Carbon Company from 1949-'90 and retired from Carbone of America in 1991.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Force, a lifetime member of the BPO Elks having been a member for 49 years; past president and member of the Kiwanis Club and member of the Bennett's Valley Men's Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball, bowling and especially softball as he has been a pitcher for both the St. Marys K of C and the CMF.
He was born and raised in St. Mary's and has been a Bennett's Valley resident since 1971.
There will be no visitation. The family will be receiving friends from 9-10 a.m. Friday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Force.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, 10 a.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. Fr. Thomas Tyler, celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial donations to the St. Joseph Church or the Bennett's Valley Ambulance.
