Wiley P. Fitzpatrick, age 84, of South Main St., DuBois, Pa., died Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, at the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born on Feb. 9, 1932, in DuBois, Pa., he was the son of the late Lawrence and Rachel (Pifer) Fitzpatrick.
He was a veteran of the United States Army.
On Sept. 22, 1956, he married Constance (Wright) Fitzpatrick. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Wiley was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17, and was of the original founders of CAPS at DuBois Central Catholic. He enjoyed golfing, and was an avid sports fan, rooting for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Penguins, Steelers and Penn State football. Above all, he loved being with his family.
He is survived by a daughter, Kay Fredette and her husband Robert of DuBois, Pa.; three sons, Tom Fitzpatrick and his wife Sheri, Tim Fitzpatrick and his wife Paula, both of DuBois, Pa., and Steven Fitzpatrick and his wife Amy of Waterville, Ohio; two brothers, Jack Fitzpatrick and Bill Fitzpatrick and his wife Joann, both of DuBois, Pa.; a sister, Patricia "Tish" Keen and her husband Ron of Rockton, Pa.; seven grandchildren: Aaron, Joel and his wife Lindsay, Daniel, Marissa, Shane, Neil and Kyle Fitzpatrick; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Fitzpatrick; and his sister, Mary "Tuck" Wray.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Oct. 3, 2016, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home Inc., DuBois.
A scriptural wake service will be held on Monday at 3:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016, at 10 a.m. from St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.
Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the church.
Burial will follow in Beechwoods Cemetery.
