Willard B. Clark (1927 - 2017)

Willard B. Clark of Brockway, Pa., passed away on Sept. 2, 2017, at 7:05 p.m. at Highland View Health Care in Brockway after falling in his home on August 16. He was 90 years of age at his passing. Other factors that contributed to his death were mesothelioma from years of working construction and black lung from coal mining in his youth.
Willard was born on March 17, 1927, and was the third generation of the founding Clarks of Brockway. He and his wife Annabelle moved back to Brockway in 2007 from Erie, Pa., when the airport expansion took his home and property. Annabelle passed in August of 2015 and lays at rest in Wildwood Cemetery in Brockway where Willard will join her at the family plot.
Willard was a veteran of World War II and was a retired union carpenter (commercial) and was a previous member of the Masonic Lodge. Willard's construction career took him to Arizona, Colorado, California and Chicago where he was a contractor for 12 years and then all across Pennsylvania. He was the architect and owners rep. for the construction of the Quaker State Headquarters building in Oil City, Pa.
He is survived by his son Russell and two daughters, Molly and Amy. He is also survived by six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, Sept. 6 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. The funeral service will be on Thursday, Sept. 7 at 11 a.m., also at the funeral home, with Pastor Karen Trask officiating.
Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded graveside by Parson-Marnati Post #95 of the American Legion.
