William "Bill" C. Lucas Jr., 97, DuBois, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018 at the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born January 4, 1921, in Grantwood, N.J., he was the son of the late William C. Lucas Sr. and the late Jennie Mae (Vanderbeck) Lucas.
On March 31, 2012, he married JoAnn Coppenhaver in Falls Creek. She survives.
Bill graduated from Virginia Tech in 1944 with a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture. He later retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture in 1988 as a poultry inspector. Bill was a World War II veteran, having served as a Staff Sergeant in Infantry in Europe. He was an elder in the Smithtown Community Church in Falls Creek, having served as a Sunday school teacher. Bill was a devoted Christian, who loved the Lord Jesus Christ. He was a Field Rep and Past President of the DuBois chapter for the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship International. His faith also lead him to share his love of Christ through prison ministry in the Clearfield Jail. He lived his life to help others know Jesus and is now currently at home in heaven.
Bill is survived by two daughters, Jennifer (Don) Herr, Bloomington, Indiana, and Mary (Michael) Plunkett, Florida; two stepdaughters, Cheri (Brad) Clinton and Connie (Gene) Pendolino, all of DuBois; six grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Carol Ann Lucas.
A Service of Remembrance will be held Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Smithtown Community Church in Falls Creek with Pastor Harold Hills officiating. Interment will be in Sykesville Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Adamson Funeral Chapel, Inc., DuBois.
