William H. "Bill" Sybert Jr., 65, of Gilpin Township, formerly of Brookville, passed away on Monday, Aug. 15, 2016, at UPMC East - Monroeville.
Born March 28, 1951, in Kittanning, he was a son of the late William H. Sybert Sr. and Irene (Fuller) Sybert.
Bill was a 1969 graduate of Brookville High School, and proudly served our country with the United States Army during the Vietnam War, and continued serving in the Reserves for several years. He worked as a laborer for Humphrey Charcoal Company in Brookville, and as a mechanic for the former Diamond J. Truck Stop in Brookville.
Bill loved animals of all kinds, enjoyed working on art projects and word search books, and was an excellent cook, including soups from scratch.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his aunts and uncles, Mae Fuller, Richard Fuller, and Marie Shearon.
Bill is survived by his sister, Mary Ann Swarmer of Gilpin Township, and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in his memory on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016, at 6:30 p.m. in Harvest Baptist Church, 224 Harvest Lane, Natrona Heights, Pa., with Pastor Dennis Smith officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made in Bill's name to the Orphans Of The Storm, 11878 PA State Route 85, Kittanning, PA 16201.
