William J. "Bill" McAninch, 84, of Maplevale Road, Brookville, Pa., passed away on Friday, Aug. 18, 2017, at the Penn Highlands Hospital in Brookville, Pa.
Bill was born Jan. 21, 1933, in DuBois, Pa., the son of Leonard McAninch and Mildred Miller McAninch. On Dec. 8, 1951, he married Margie Ann Swineford in Brookville, Pa. She passed away in March of 2010.
Bill worked most of his life and retired as a rural mail carrier in the Brookville area. He previously worked for the Brookville Creamery, and on the side worked as a carpenter, helping build many houses in the area.
For over 30 years he devoted his time to being a caregiver and taking care of his wife Margie. He was a member of the First Church of God in Brookville, loved all children and animals, enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, bowling, golfing, and especially square dancing. Bill loved watching baseball and football, a big fan of the Pirates and the Steelers, but most of all he loved his family, playing cards, especially CAD with his wife Margie, and later playing Bingo at the McKinley Health Center.
Bill is survived by three daughters, Cathy Caylor (Rick) of Brookville, Pa., Linda Franz (Joe) of Thomasville, N.C., and Cheri Himes (Fuzzy) of Corsica, Pa.; one son, Bill McAninch (Lori) of Brookville, Pa.; one sister, Nancy Johnston of Brookville, Pa.; eight grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
