William Manuel Bunker, born in Akron, Ohio, April 20, 1958, passed away Jan. 15, 2016, to be with the Lord at Ralph H. Johnson V.A. Medical Center in Charleston, South Carolina.
He was a 1976 graduate of DuBois Area High School.
He served in the Navy from June 1, 1976, until Oct. 31, 1994 and was a policeman at North Charleston Police Department, North Charleston, S.C., from 2000 to 2014.
The son of Betty Bunker and the late Robert Bunker, he is also survived by a daughter, Angela Elmer (husband Tim), of Summerville, S.C.; a son, James Bunker, of Lansing, Ill.; a brother, Dusty Bunker, of DuBois, Pa; five sisters: Marlene Nagle (husband Lester) of Punxsutawney, Pa., Tambra Brady (husband Mike) of Luthersburg, Pa., Cheryl Hibbard (husband Randy) of DuBois, Pa., Becky Bunker of DuBois, Pa., and Sara Larkin (husband Justin) of Luthersburg, Pa.
He was also preceded in death by grandparents Manuel Gearhart and Mary McIntyre Reuben and Minnie Bunker.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6 at the Greenville Church of the Brethren, Greenville Pike. Pastor Donnie Bennett, William's cousin from Ohio, will officiate. Military honors will be accorded by the James J. Patterson Veterans of Foreign Wars, Francis Romeo commander.
The family asks donations be made to the Luthersburg Union Cemetery.
