Tech Sergeant William W. Snyder, retired, 83, of Falls Creek, Pa., died on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017, at DuBois Nursing Home in DuBois, Pa.
Born Thursday, Jan. 11, 1934, in Porter Township, Pa., he was the son of the late Paul E. Snyder and the late Esther (Kesslar) Snyder.
He retired as a Technical Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force after 21 years of service. He was a tail gunner and veteran of the Vietnam and Korean wars.
He was a lifetime member of the James P. Patterson Post #813 Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Walston Club and the Sandy Hose Company Club. He was also a member of the American Legion post #0017, the Olympic Athletic Club, the Polish Citizens Club, the Hormtown Rifle and Pistol Club and the Falls Creek Eagles.
He is survived by his son, William M. Snyder of Winter Park, Fla.; brothers, Laird K. Snyder (Karen) of Falls Creek, Pa., and Bernard P. Snyder (Joyce) of Reynoldsville, Pa.; sister, Joanne Ritter (Thomas) of Warren, Ohio; grandson, Brandon W. Snyder of Winter Park, Fla.; nephews, Bernard P. Snyder Jr. (Kristy) of DuBois, Pa., and Keith Snyder of Falls Creek, Pa.; nieces, Mary J. Snyder of Raliegh, N.C. and Toni A. Snyder of Nashville, Tenn.; great nephews Jacob and Brady Snyder of DuBois, Pa.; and great niece, Emilee Snyder of Falls Creek, Pa.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his stepmother, Mary A. Snyder; second wife, Mary Jane; and brothers, Richard and Donald Snyder.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017, at Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., located at 206 E. Main St., Reynoldsville, PA 15851 with the Fr. William Barron officiating. Military honors will be performed by the DuBois Area Honor Guard following the service. Interment will be in Timblin Cemetery, Timblin, Pa.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017, at Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home Inc.
