Willis "John" Grant, 78, DuBois, passed away Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017, at his home.
Born March 24, 1939, he was the son of the late James Edward and Bertha Edna (Vandervort) Grant.
He married Joyce Marie (Shaffer) Grant on June 8, 1959, in DuBois, Pa. She survives.
John graduated from Brookville Area High School and later retired as a supervisor from the Sheet Metal Workers Union, Local #12. He became involved with Caring and Sharing for Kids through the Wheels of Yesteryear Car Club. John was a member of the Good Guys Car Club and helped at the Gateway Humane Society. He enjoyed working on anything with a motor, restoring and rebuilding cars, building miniature garages, and spending time talking to people and friends.
John is survived by three children, Kimberely Marie (Bryon) Powell of Brookville, Christopher John Grant of State College, and Steven Jay Grant of DuBois; two grandchildren, Amber Marie (Tetteh) Lynch of Pittsburgh and Eric John Powell of Brookville; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald LeRoy Grant; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by six siblings: Robert Grant, Aldean Burrows, Louise Hilton, Elaine Wells, Betty Wiles and William Grant.
Friends and family will be received Thursday, Nov. 2, from 2-8 p.m. and Friday, Nov. 3, from 10-11 a.m. at the Adamson Funeral Chapel, Inc., in DuBois. A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Sherwood officiating. Interment will be in Morningside Cemetery.
