I met her and her husband Charles while traveling to California by myself on an Amtrak train. That was way back in April 1988. Mr. and Mrs. Schlemmer were so kind and friendly, and I had kept in touch with them by writing letters, but just for a brief time. I've remembered them as the kindest folks I've met as I traveled alone, already 35 years have passed. May they rest in peace. Leon
