Dewitt Bell Obituary

Dewitt T. Bell, Jr., formerly of Lewisville, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2021 in Erie, PA. He was born June 12, 1943 in Monticello, KY, a son of the late Dewitt T. Sr. and Anna (Gregory) Bell.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, Dewitt resided in Erie, PA for the past 20 years. An out-going and generous man, he enjoyed traveling and visiting his family. He took care of his mother until she passed away, and had a close relationship with a special niece, Sheila, until her death. He worked several different places and enjoyed a life of personal solitude.

He leaves to cherish his memory, four sisters, Beulah Fudge of Eaton, OH, Barbara (Steve) Disbro of New Castle, Ellen Suttles of Milton, and Mara Kendall of Lewisville; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Dewitt T. Bell Sr. and Anna (Gregory) Bell Steele, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Donna Pitts and Nova Nation; and a brother, Manual Steele.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Steve Disbro officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow in Lewisville Cemetery, where military graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #137 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1282.
