Alvaro Morris Capriotti

Alvaro "Morris" Capriotti, 87, of Buena Vista Township passed away at home after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Morris was born in Philadelphia, raised in Malaga, and after his marriage, moved to Buena Vista Township until his death. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran proudly serving as a gunner's mate third class in the Asia-Pacific Theatre of war for two years.

In 1950, he and his brother Dewey formed Capriotti Brother's Incorporated, a masonry construction company. They built many brick and stone houses in the Vineland Area. In 1960, Capri Construction Company, Inc. was founded with his wife, Caroline. Some of the more notable projects that he constructed locally are the Police Health and Welfare Building, St. Francis of Assisi Church and Rectory, the Main Road School, and Dane Barse School. He also constructed phases 1 and 2 at St. Augustine Preparatory School in Richland.

Morris was a member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsworkers Local 5 (formerly Local 33). He was a founding member of the Malaga Bear Cat Gunning Club, a boater, fisherman, hunter, gardener and pinochle player. He was a devoted parishioner of St. Mary's Church in East Vineland. Morris was a kid at heart; he loved life, his work, but most of all, he loved and adored his family.

He was the son of the late Aquilino and Anna (Carbone) Capriotti, of Malaga. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Caroline (Bylone) Capriotti; daughter, Rhonda Tamburro of Sea Isle City; daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Victor Druziako of Vineland; son and daughter-in-law, Arthur and Lisa Capriotti of Buena Vista Township; seven grandchildren, Dennis (Melissa) Tamburro Jr., Steven Tamburro, Victoria Druziako, Gregory Capriotti, Stephanie Druziako, Gabriella Capriotti, and Gianna Capriotti; two great-grandchildren, Dennis Tamburro III and Bella Tamburro; as well as many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Morris is predeceased by his brothers, Dewey Capriotti and George Capriotti; his sisters, Theresa Garro and Mary Beckett. We want to extend our gratitude to Holy Redeemer Hospice Care and the Griswold Home Care in our time of need.
