Colette Wendy Bleistine Obituary

Colette Wendy Bleistine, 22, of Washington Township, peacefully passed away on Monday, May 21, 2012, after a courageous battle with cystic fibrosis.

A young woman, grounded in her Christian faith, who lived and enjoyed every day of her life to the fullest to make a positive impact on the world and enjoyed every moment of her life, is how Colette will be remembered.

Born in Woodbury and raised in Washington Township, Colette graduated from Washington Township High School in 2007, where she was an accomplished student and musician and member of the Washington Township High School Marching Band. She continued on to earn her associate degree from Gloucester County Community College before being accepted to and currently attending Rowan University as an NJ STARS Scholar with a major in public relations.

Colette was born with cystic fibrosis, and she accepted her illness and used it as a springboard to enhance who she was and how she lived her life. Colette was a member of the Youth Advisory Board at CHOP in an effort to improve the services and treatments that the patients received. Colette spent her life working for the benefit of others and was a generous donor through the Gift of Life Organ Donor Program so that others will benefit and continue to enjoy life through her donation.

Colette will be remembered as being "Everyone's Angel" and a friend to everyone she met. Colette's motto in life was; "Life is too short to be nothing but happy ..."

Colette is the beloved daughter of George and Nancee (Phillips) Bleistine; loving niece of Rusty (Patty), Craig (Roxanne), Cindy (Mark), Jeff (Stephanie), Nancy (Ed), Carol (Beth), Peggy (Alan), Joan (Bob) and Tommy; cherished first cousin of Allison, Lindsey, Tim, Ian, Carly, Jonah, McKenna, Paul, Julie, Andy, Joanna, Mike and Beth; and dear second cousin of Vienna, Giselle, Michael, Tyler, Logan, Scott, Riley, Emily and Jaxon.
