JoAnn Evelyn Marvin(1947 - 2018)

JoAnn Evelyn Marvin, 70 of Coldwater passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Laurels of Coldwater while surrounded by her family.
A memorial service will take place at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Shayne Looper of Lockwood Community Church officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 11 a.m.
JoAnn was born October 20, 1947 to Herbert and Evelyn (Crandall) Archer in Coldwater. She graduated from Coldwater High School in 1965 and then went to Wright Beauty Academy, graduating in 1966. On March 30, 1968 she married the love of her life, Larry Marvin in Coldwater. JoAnn was a hardworking wife and mother. She worked at Dolly's Beauty Shop in Bronson and another in Kalamazoo before taking a position with the Coldwater Community School System as a Cook for 15 years. She then worked for American Greetings in several local stores for 15 years. JoAnn was in charge of running the Republican Booth for fair week for many years.
JoAnn loved to cook, especially for big groups. She liked canning, an occasional trip to the casino, and playing bingo. JoAnn also enjoyed riding snow mobiles and going mushrooming. Her true joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
JoAnn is survived by her husband of 50 years, Larry Marvin of Coldwater; her children Scott (Dr. Tammy Jechura) Marvin of Albion, and Deborah Betts of Quincy; her brother Gordon (Marylou) Archer of Detroit; her grandchildren Logan Betts, Luke Farris, and Lillian Marvin; 3 nephews and one niece; and her good friends Mari DeMerritt, Sue Webb, and Bonnie Case. She was preceded in death by her parents.
