Robert Walsh Obituary
Age 90, passed away peacefully at his family home that he cherished on Fri, Apr. 22, 2016. Born Dec. 6, 1925 in Bentley Creek, PA; Robert was the son of the late, William & Helen Carroll Walsh. In service to his country, Bob served in the US Navy WWII. After which, he married Mary Jane Harkness on Aug. 14, 1948 and she predeceased him on Aug. 20, 2006. A vital part of his community, Bob operated Bob Walsh Garage for many years. He was also active at the Harkness Cemetery. He enjoyed family times at the family homestead. Bob is survived by his loving children, daughter, JoAnn Nearing, Troy, PA; sons, "Alan" (Kathy) Walsh, Troy, PA; "Dick" Walsh & Donna Biddle, Big Pond, PA; four granddaughters, Angie (Ozzie) Osgood, Jill (Micky) Cavanaugh, Autumn (Ross) DeLauro, and Mary Ellen (Josh) King; great grandchildren, nieces & nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Robert was predeceased by his siblings, Edwina (Charles) Drake, Jean Jenkins, Edward Walsh and Thomas Walsh. At his request all services will be handled privately by Caywood's Funeral Home & Gardens, 1126 Broadway, Southport/Elmira, NY 14904 with full military honors accorded Mr. Walsh interment will take place at the family's convenience in the Harkness Cemetery, Springfield, PA. Memorials may be directed to the charity of one's choice in his memory.

So sorry to hear of Uncle Bob's passing, I was always thought he was going to live to be 100. During this difficult time, you can be thankful that he went just the way he would have wanted to . . . without a fuss. I'll miss him dearly.

He loved his family and was always glad to see them. I remember Bobby visiting his grandmother weekly, aunts and uncles, then cousins and friends from church, just to check on them and know that he cared! Bob (and his smile)will surely be missed.
