William Trasco Obituary
Billy was born Sept. 1, 1966 in North Towanda Township, Pa., the son of William F. Trasco Sr. and Rebecca "Jane" Fish Trasco. He attended Towanda Area High School and Bradford County Vocational School learning construction and graduated in 1984. Upon graduation, Billy continued his career in construction working for himself and many construction companies always taking pride in the work he did. He was a very talented musician (especially playing guitar) and played with many bands throughout the area. Rock and roll was in his heart and soul. Most of all, he took pride in his only son, Zach, and cherished the time he spent teaching him the things he knew and loved-fishing, hunting, and boating.
The most recent proud moment was Zach getting his first squirrel. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him. Rock on Billy!! He was a member of the New Life Church in Canton, Pa.
He is survived by his son, Zach A. Trasco; and his mother Leigh Trasco of Ulster; parents, William and Rebecca Trasco of Towanda RR 4; sister, Linda Boyles and her husband Kevin of Towanda; brother, Michael Trasco and his fiancé Rachel Stone of Laceyville; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; his canine companion Samson and many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ed Fish, Anna Trasco, Raymond and Kansas McNamara.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, Pa. A memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Interment will be private in Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills, Pa.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be directed to the Zach A. Trasco Continuing Education Fund in care of Citizens & Northern Bank, East Smithfield, PA 18817 in Billy's memory.

My thoughts are with Trasco family. Some of my biggest laughs and greatest stories were in the company of Billy. I would have never become the musician I am without knowing Billy Trasco. Your talent was amazing,..your wit was joyous,..and your laugh was infectious. You will be missed by everyone you touched in life.

My deepest sympathies go out to Leigh, Zach and the rest of Billy's famly. I am at my desk at work listening to Black Crow's song Hard to Handle. That song ALWAYS reminds me of Billy. I remember back in the late 80's at Granvile Tavern, he was playing with Night Flight and was waling through the audience strummin and singing. He walked to our table were Leigh was and got down on his knees singing the chorus to her. I think of him EVERYTIME I herar the song. Leigh and Zach remember the good times spent with Billy. Rock on Billy..sing for the angels!!!!!!!!

I had the pleasure of knowing Billy for the last few years, didn't see him or talk to him all the time, but he brought a smile to my face when I did. He will be sadly missed but always in our thoughts.

Billy had a way of playing the guitar that went straight from his soul into our hearts. My time spent playing with him in Keeper and Night Flight are memories of him that I will always cherish. Rest in peace.
