Rodger Brown Obituary

Rodger E. Brown, 67, of the town of Columbus, passed away Sept. 6, 2006, in Cooperstown, following a short illness.
Rodger was born Aug. 27, 1939, in the town of Columbus, the son of Donald R. and Norma M. (Edmonds) Brown.
Rodger married Judy (Lloyd) Brown. She survives him.
Rodger grew up and lived most of his life in Columbus. He was a graduate of New Berlin Central School.
Rodger is survived by one son, Steve Brown and his wife, Renie; one daughter, Denise Talbot and companion Todd Lake; six grandchildren, Jeffrey, Stef, Matt, Wayne, Derrick and Britany. He is also survived by his mother, Norma Brown; as well as many other family members and special friends. He is also survived by his brother, David Brown, and wife Jane; sister, Barb Avery and husband Harry.
He was predeceased by his father, Donald R. Brown; his brother, Paul Brown; his sister, Joanne Brown; and an infant son, Tommy.
Rodger worked as a farmer, maple producer, bus driver, dog warden and many other odd jobs.
He was always there to help his family, friends and neighbors. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and jokes, love of John Deere tractors and enjoyment of country music, especially the band Lazy T.
He was a member of the New Berlin Fire Department and former Fire Police Captain. He was also a member of the rotary and Jaycees.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006, at the First United Methodist Church, New Berlin, with Pastor Beverly Butler and Sheree Acre, officiating. A special memorial performance by Tyson Smith and Caree Acre.
Interment will be in Columbus Corners Cemetery, town of Columbus.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, 2006, at the Dakin Funeral Home, LP.
Memorial donations may be made to the Unadilla Valley Central School FFA or the Brain Tumor Foundation.

Hello Judy, Denise, Steve, and other family members sorry to hear about your loss, Rodger will be remembered for all his good deeds and i will always remember being called truck from him, you all know what i am talking about, God Bless all of you

We were so sorry to hear about Rodger. Don called and told us yesterday

and we just want you to know that you and your family are in our

thoughts and prayers. This must be a very hard time for you and I know

your faith in Jesus Christ is what will bring you peace.
