Edna M. Strobeck

Edna M. Strobeck, 83, of Oneonta, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at the A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital.
Born May 16, 1923, in Cortlandville, she was the daughter of the late Irving and Grace Christler Purdy.
She married Leslie Jay Strobeck Sr. on Nov. 5, 1943, in Worcester. He predeceased her in May 1993.
She enjoyed doing word search puzzles, and going to the Duke and Nick's visiting with friends. She loved cats and spending time at home with her family.
Edna is survived by her two sons, Leslie J. Strobeck Jr. of Oneonta and Floyd J. Strobeck Sr. and his wife, Rita, of Oneonta; her grandchildren, Robert (and Kelly) Strobeck of Cortland, Leslie Strobeck III of Cortland, Robbin (and Samuel) Jackson of Cobleskill, Floyd Jr. (and Diana) Strobeck of Oneonta, Kathy Strobeck of Cobleskill, Louise (and Anthony) Huffman of Oneonta, and Amanda Strobeck of Oneonta (and her fiancé, Dan Hallock of Marlboro); and seven great-grandchildren, Tabitha and Samantha Jackson of Cobleskill, Floyd III, Cynthia and Natasha Strobeck of Oneonta, Jeremiah LeVille of Cobleskill and Savannaha Huffman of Oneonta. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held at the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main St., at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007, with the Rev. Timothy Thurber, pastor of the West Oneonta Baptist Church, officiating.
Interment will be held in the spring at Oneonta Plains Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007, at the funeral home.
