We were so lucky to have Jon in our lives when the Piper sibs and their spouses lived near each other in New York for a short time in the late 1970's. Jon hosted gourmet meals with Donna in New Canaan over the holidays back then and planned a special outing for all of us in the city introducing Mark and I to one of our favorite restaurants. (He had exquisite taste!) When Mark and I were married the small gathering of guests wanted to continue partying after the simple reception with appetizers. Jon rose to the occasion and made reservations for everyone at Sign of the Dove. I still don't know how he did it on such short notice. Until it closed, we would celebrate our anniversary at the piano bar whenever we were in NYC. Jon was a catalyst to many wonderful memories. Since we met in Munich 1974, Jon never seemed to age. His hair grayed but the smile and sparkling eyes remained the same. Loved those sparkly eyes!
