Like Paul, my uncle Capt John ( jack) Hallisey worked and was Captain of the original Mijoy for over 40 years. Hopefully they have reunited and surely have lots of sea stories to share!!

I started fishing on the Mijoy in 1975 at age 9. Over the years, those experiences forged my lifetime involvement within the fishing industry. Fast forward to more recent years, I would often stop in to get the local scoop and a cup of Mary Lou's hot coffee before the Mijoy departed. Whether running the trip or not, Paul would usually be there. I would get the nod and smile as he briefly glanced up from his morning newspaper. A true legend who will be greatly missed in our local community.

I have known Paul since my grandmother began dating him over 19 years ago. Overtime, he became like a grandfather to me. He was one of the kindest, most generous people I knew. He was always there to lend a helping hand to whomever was in need, improving our lives in both small and major ways. Although he has physically left us, I know his spirit and memory still lives on in the many hearts that he touched. He was loved by his family and his community. He will be greatly missed. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.
