David Hersant Obituary
He developed a love of exploring various parts of the world at an early age when his father was sent to Germany at the end of World War II to help rebuild the economy. As a young man, he traveled to various parts of Europe with his friend Howard Park, drawing on sidewalks and singing folk songs. He had an affinity for France, leading him to learn fluent French. Besides his time in Germany, he attended school in Windham and summered at his family's beach house in Waterford. He loved sailing and skiing, anywhere he could.
Upon his honorable discharge from the Marine Corps, having served both domestically and a full tour in Vietnam, David graduated from the University of New Haven with a degree in accounting.
He enjoyed his career as an international financial consultant and Global CFO as it enabled him to continue his passion of travel while he worked. His family was able to join him on two adventures to Switzerland, living there for several years, giving them the opportunity to travel to Italy, Yugoslavia, Spain, Germany, England, and often to France, just to get croissants.
David is survived by his wife, Adelaide (Park) Hersant; his three children, Léa Lowry (Bard Lowry), Olivia Hersant (David Moorhead), and Park Hersant (Nikki Polidori-Hersant); his grandchildren, Christopher, David, Adelaide, Desmaison and Victoria. Towards the end of his cognition, he was gifted with bonus grandchildren, Ainslee, Sydney, Dylan, Brady and Liam.
David was predeceased by both of his brothers, Darryl Hersant and Douglas Hersant.

Along with my family, the Hersants were early residents of Millstone Point. From my earliest days, I have many fond memories of Olive, Joe, Darryl, Doug and David as principled, hardworking, handsome, and accomplished people - throughout their lives. I feel their loss and send sincerest condolences to David's family.
