Dear Gerritt Family,
For an unexplained reason being in Connecticut Youth Jazz popped in my head this morning. I was curious if it was still around. To my great sadness I ran across this news. I still think about those rehearsals in Durham and the trip we all took to Disney. My sincerest condolences to you and your family.

Dear Senora Gerritt and family, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Gerritt. I played the flute in his orchestra at Brown School and he instructed my daughter, Ellie, at Brown just a few years ago. His enthusiasm for his work with these children was just as it was 30 years ago. My thoughts are with you. Sincerely, Dana Swenson Weinstein DHHS 86

Dear Christine and Family,

Thank you for letting me a part of your "Celebration of Life". As you know he was loved by many, and his last words to us were inspiring. Life is about memories, laughter and love. I feel privileged to have heard him for the last time and confident that we will all see him again. I'm sure he will watch over all of us.

My deepest condolences to all,

Chris and family,
My sincere sympathy to you all. Reid was a great guy, and always up for a good laugh. We had a lot of good times in the old neighborhood in Waterford, and Reid was always at the center of it. He will be missed.

Reid taught me to play the clarinet in 5th grade, and then I had the pleasure of working with him at Brown many years later. He was a true gentleman, and his legacy lives on in the countless students he inspired.

Mrs. Fay Gerritt was the much beloved advisor to our VRHS Class of 1967. Through her we became acquainted with her family. Much time has passed since then but her memory and those of the good times remain. So sorry for your loss. Kathleen Saunders Ely. VRHS 1967

Reid and I both played trombone in the WHS band together. If I recall correctly he was also the 1st Drum Major that the marching band had. He really took that to heart. He was a great guy, my sympathies to the family for your loss.
