BARNET KUSSNER (Barney) On Sunday, February 14, 2021. Barney Kussner, beloved husband of Lisa. Loving father of Harrison, Dylan, and Emma. Cherished son of Connie Monson Kussner and the late Dr. Norman Kussner. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Mindy and Jeremy Alter, John Kussner and Julia Greenfield, Francy Kussner and Arthur Yallen, and Sara Kussner. Son- in-law of Jill Thomas. Barnet was a wonderful husband and father. He was a devoted son and brother. He was a highly respected municipal lawyer at Weirfoulds LLP where he practised for 32 years. Barney was known for his fair- minded, calm demeanor underscored by his incredible brilliance. He made us laugh and had an encyclopedic knowledge of the Beatles and The Who. He was the kindest, most generous man, who will be deeply missed by all who were privileged to know him. Donations in Barney's memory should be made to Canadian Shaare Zedek Hospital Foundation 416-781-3584. For funeral information please contact Steeles Memorial Chapel.

To Lisa and Their Children I extend my sympathy for the loss of a cherished husband and father in the prime of his life.

I also regret the loss of a colleague who could always be counted on to present his case with determination and good humour and civility.

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief. I knew Barney for many years in my capacity as fellow municipal and planning lawyer. He was a most outstanding lawyer and person. My heart goes out to his family.

Barney, I only knew you in your professional capacity, but that was enough to know that you were a fine man, an excellent lawyer and a trusted and well liked colleague. I had the privilege to work with you as a colleague many times over the past 15 years as a professional ally for our respective municipal clients. You were always 100% reliable, reasonable, sensible, hard working, creative, knowledgeable and articulate and used those talents to serve your clients' interests diligently and well. I will truly miss working along side you in the years to come... You were excellent at what you did and your kind manner and good humour were much appreciated. You will be sorely missed by those of us who continue to work in the municipal and planning law field. My heart goes out to your family and friends who knew and loved you in your personal capacity. You were a fine man. Thank you for the time we enjoyed working together.

To the Kussner family. I was a Member of the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal. Barnet represented several clients at mediation I chaired. His thoughtfulness, willingness to seek opportunities for agreement, were always helpful and welcome. Although I only met him only a handful of times he seemed a capable, genuine and kind person. My sympathies to you all.
