Ivy EDWARDS Obituary



IVY ALICE EDWARDS Late of Victoria, BC, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2009. Born in Toronto, ON, March 30, 1914, she was in her 95 year. The youngest of 4 girls and a son born to Emily (Maslin) and Frederick Willingham, both of England, Mom was predeceased by her sisters Daisy (Baker), Doris (Wilson), and Connie (Rennie), and her brother Fred Willingham. Mom is survived by her daughter Jacqueline Mowchenko of Saskatoon, SK, and a son, Donald, of Scarborough, ON. Mom was predeceased by her husband Jack Edwards, of Toronto, and a daughter, Margaret Thompson, Victoria, BC. Grandchildren include Brian Thompson (Heidi) of Ottawa, ON, and Peggy Garrett (Tom), of Weatherford, Texas, Sherry (Edwards) Mace of Whitby, ON, and Wendy Edwards (deceased), and Audrey Mowchenko, Saskatoon, SK, and Murray Mowchenko, Calgary, AB. Great grandchildren include Lisa, Carrie Thompson, Weatherford, Texas, Justin Garrett, Texas, three great, great grandchildren, also of Texas, special niece Arlene Newton and nephew Barry Wilson (Linda) both of Burnaby BC. Mom loved her life in Victoria. Her circle of friends included apartment managers Claire Belfrey, and Maisie; Wayne and staff at Pharmasave; podiatrist Dr. lo Bianco; Janice and staff at Hair is You; some special staff at Hillside's Zeller's; and many kind Victoria Taxi cab drivers. Mom enjoyed going to Willows Beach, especially to the Tea House, and to Ogden Point for ice cream, and taking bus rides to Sydney for fish and chips. The family would like to express sincere thanks to the nursing and care staff at Glengarry Hospital's Richmond Unit, and those at Selkirk Place, Aston Unit. May she rest in peace. A gathering of family members took place on Friday, March 13, 2009, prior to cremation. Remembrance donations from friends may be made to the charity of their choice.
