James Moodie RAE Obituary
JAMES MOODIE RAE Jim passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy illness, in the early hours of November 5, 2018 after 78 years well lived. Devoted and loving husband of 54 years to Maureen (née Lang), loving father of Shauna (John) and Jennifer (Jim), treasured grandfather of Russell, beloved big brother of Margie Topping and uncle to Sandra, Kenneth and Fiona in Scotland and Mark in Australia. He will be missed by brother-in-law Colin Lang and Maria Reitz and their children. Predeceased by parents Samuel and Maude, brother Sam, brother-in-law Bill and in-laws Cynthia and Mac Lang. Jim was born in Lennoxtown, Scotland, February 14, 1940 in the shadow of the Campsie Fells. He arrived in Winnipeg on a frigid December day in 1961, wearing a trench coat and with $100 in his pocket. He crafted his professional life through Great West Life; Geigy, GD Searle Pharmaceuticals, Cangene, and on other biotech boards of directors. He was passionate about golf and tennis, the cottage at East Hawk Lake, and his many travels with Maureen, particularly to Jenn and Jim's place outside of Kingston and Cape San Blas. Jim was also a lover of good food, music, mystery novels and animals (especially winged ones). A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, November 11th, at The Fairways (McMaster House), 1400 Dixie Road South, Mississauga from 2 - - 5 p.m. For further information please contact [email protected] Donations in Jim's memory can be made to the Salvation Army.
