JAMES PIERS MACKENZIE-MAIR (Jim) September 21, 1938 - March 9, 2021 Jim died suddenly at home in Ajax on March 9, 2021, aged 82. Born in what is now Mumbai, India, on September 21, 1938, he was educated in the UK at Ampleforth College and Trinity College, Oxford, and served in the Seaforth Highlanders. An adventurer at heart Jim immigrated to Canada in the late 1960s. His integrity and Scottish work ethic made him an effective and well-liked Director of Operations in the haulage industry, known for his honesty and sense of fair play. In the early 1980s Jim settled in Toronto and it was here that he met the love of his life, Lise (née Girouard). They married in 1981 and Jim enjoyed some of his happiest years with Lise as they travelled the world together. Lise passed away in 1995. Jim maintained a healthy interest in his community until his death and remained active in his later years. He is survived by his sister Mary, nephew Crispin, niece Hamida, and great-niece Serena.

I would very much like to get in touch with Mary. If someone sees this who knows Mary, could you give her my name and email address: Cathy Whittall Harris (cathy.harris@catchthefire.com). When James first moved to Canada he lived with my Mum and Dad for a bit while he got settled and got a job. Any help would be very appreciated. Sending sincere condolences to the family.
