MACKAY, Dr. Jean Halliday, PhD.
The death occurred peacefully at her home on Friday, February 13, 2004 of Dr. Jean Halliday MacKay of Waterview Heights, Charlottetown and formerly of Stanley Bridge, P.E.I. aged 83 years. Veteran of World War II.
Jean was the beloved wife of The Late Wendall MacKay and mother of Flora (Paul) MacKay Wood, grandmother of Kenneth, Philippa and Aidan Wood, sister of James (Edna) Halliday. She was predeceased by her son Kenneth and sister Alice Brundage.
Dr. MacKay is resting at the Cutcliffe Funeral Home, 33 Longworth Avenue, Charlottetown, P.E.I. (902-894-4433) from where the funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, February 19th at 11 a.m. Interment to take place later in the family plot in The New London People's Cemetery.
Members of Charlottetown Branch #1 of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a Veteran's Tribute Service at the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 6:45 p.m.
Visiting hours at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 18th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers and if so desired memorials in Dr. MacKay's memory may be made to The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or The Belfast Community Cemetery Fund.
We the family of The Late Jean MacKay would like to take this opportunity to thank the compassionate and conscientious staff of Bayshore Connolly Home Health Care for the care you gave to your kindest, gentlest patient and for fulfilling her wish to die at home and not alone.
