In Loving MemoryJOHN HANSON LCol (Ret'd) John Allan Hanson, MSW December 12, 1940 - February 22, 2019 Ever intelligent and affable, our beloved Dad made friends wherever he went. He was always on the go, keeping fit and engaged in his community. Dad was known for his ability to tell a great story and often irreverent sense of humour, and always had a soft spot for the Muppet Sam Eagle. It is hard to believe that two years have gone by since we lost our Dad to suicide, following his battle with depression. As head of Social Work Services for the military, Dad was open about his mental health and we continue his legacy by talking about these issues in an effort to reduce stigma for others who are struggling. We have appreciated reconnecting with old friends of our Dad from far and wide over the past years, and never tire of hearing stories about him.
