Ken, beloved husband of Sarah Turnbull, (nee Duggan) of over 57 years, was the eldest of four brothers, Walter (Buzz), Peter and John, son of Walter Gordon and Lucille Celeste Turnbull. Born in Toronto, Ken attended Upper Canada College where he made life long friends and excelled in many school sports including boxing, cricket, rugby, hockey and football. Ken played for the Toronto Balmy Beach Football Club in 1941. 1942 found Ken serving in Canada's war effort as a distinguished member of The Toronto Scottish Regiment rising to the Rank of Captain. Following his return from overseas Ken was a member of the 1947 Grey Cup winning Toronto Argonauts. Ken furthered his career in the packaging business starting Turnbull Packaging, an innovative and cutting edge company that set new standards in the Packaging Industry. Ken and Sarah lived for a time in Toronto before moving to the Caledon area where they enjoyed a country life for many years, the joys of travel and the forging of lifelong friendships with many dear friends. They also enjoyed the time spent over the years at Wren and Mary's lake in The Muskokas. Ken will always be remembered by all those whose lives he touched, for his engaging sense of humour, cutting wit and love of great conversation. Ken's nieces, nephews and their families continue to cherish their memories of Ken and Sarah's generosity, family focused events and great stories. In his final years, Ken was blessed by the in-home caring support coordinated by Louise Watson of Peel Region CCAC and the Red Cross team of Marilynn, Comfort and others.
