MORTON, His Honour Judge M. Douglas
Peacefully, at Spruce Lodge in Stratford, Ontario, on Sunday, November 25th, 2001, in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Mona, and loving brother of Doris Hart, and the late Lloyd Morton. Dear father of Murray and his wife Ellen, Bruce and his wife Carolyn, and Jean Smith and her husband Robert. Loving grandfather of Daniel, Matthew, Andrew, Melissa and Brooke. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Sadly missed by many friends and aquaintances. W.W. II Veteran, Former Chair of the Toronto Board of Education (1956), MP for Davenport Riding (1957-1962), Queen's Council, Provincial Judge, Family Division, Simcoe County (1970-1986). Since 1936, a member of the Beaver Bible Class of Westmoreland United Church and Westway United Church of Toronto. A current member of Central United Church of Barrie, Ontario. 50-year member and a Mel Osborne Fellow of Kempenfelt Bay Kiwanis Club of Barrie, and former member of West Toronto - Casa Loma Kiwanis Club Toronto, a 50 year member of Ionic Lodge 26 A.F. & A.M. Toronto. Friends may call at the STECKLEYGOODERHAM FUNERAL HOMES, Clapperton & Worsley Streets, Barrie (705) 721-9921 on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Central United Church, 54 Ross Street, Barrie, on Wednesday, November 28th with visiting from 9:30 a.m. until time of Service at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow. Interment Glendale Memorial Gardens, Albion Road and Hwy. 27, Rexdale at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Morton Youth Services, Barrie, Ontario.
