HOCKIN, Nora Margaret Cooper
In Ottawa on Monday, November 26, 2001. Beloved wife of John Kleins for 25 years. Born in London, ON, she leaves her parents, Jean and John, her siblings twin brother John, Anne, Sheila, Harold, Andrew and Gerald; John's children, Robert, Tim and Nancy and a large and loving family. She had great courage and never complained during her illness, always more concerned about the comfort of others than herself. She was a vibrant, caring woman full of life and energy. Educated at Neuchatel, Trinity College Toronto and Carleton University, she will be remembered in Ottawa for a long and distinguished career with Industry Canada; for her many accomplishments and awards and her commitment to volunteer service, notably with the Thyroid Foundation of Canada. A tireless family chronicler, Nora spent much time touring Europe and North America building an archive of information that will be cherished by present and future generations. Her loved ones will always remember Nora as a loving, humourous and generous person: always ready for adventure. She loved life and lived it with passion. She will be missed by all the people she touched as a volunteer, mentor, colleague and friend. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa, on Wednesday, November 28, 2001 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be private. A Celebration of Nora's life is planned at her home at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Research Group would be appreciated. Arrangements in care of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 613- 233-1143.
