Virginia RIDPATH Obituary
Virginia (Ginny) Gooderham
Ridpath (nee Grant)
Late on the night of Tuesday,
October 24, 2017, Virginia
(Ginny) Gooderham Ridpath (nee
Grant) passed away peacefully,
at the age of 80, with her family
by her side.
Ginny was a cherished mother,
grandmother, sister, and dear
friend to so many. She will be
lovingly remembered by her
children, Jefferson (Debbie),
Case (Debbie), and Larkin (Rick);
her former spouse, John; her
sister, Suzie; her grandchildren,
Brittany, Olivia, Garrison,
Spencer, Jeffrey, and Gregory;
and the countless others whose
lives she touched.
Ginny was a strong, adventurous
woman who lived life to the
fullest: she was a leading
member of the Canadian
Olympic swimming team at the
1956 Games in Melbourne; she
paddled the Nahanni River in her
60's, and went skydiving on her
75th birthday; she lived at times
in Orangeville, Toronto,
Algonquin Park, New York City,
and her beloved Tuscany making
friends and touching hearts all
over the world.
In place of a traditional funeral
service the family will be hosting
a celebration of Ginny's life at
the Millcroft Inn (near Caledon,
Ontario) on Sunday, November
26, 2017 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. In
lieu of flowers or other gifts,
please consider a donation in her
name to either The Friends of
Algonquin Park, or to the The
Krembil Neuroscience Centre of
the University Health Network in
Toronto.
