1925 - 2019 Obituary Condolences Gallery
WILLY MUELLER Willy Mueller was born in Kirchheim unter Teck, Germany on December 24, 1925. He died in Kingston, ON on December 27, 2018. During WWII, he was a POW in Medicine Hat, AB and Neys, ON. In 1952, he immigrated to Canada from Germany with his wife, Gisela. He worked as a machinist at the paper mill in Red Rock, ON until 1968. During this time, Willy volunteered with Scouts Canada and helped develop the Red Cross & Royal Life Saving Society swim program throughout Northwestern Ontario. After graduating in 1970 from the Recreation Leadership program at Centennial College in Toronto, ON, he was the recreation facilities manager there for 20 years. He loved to dance, play badminton, travel and visit with family and friends in Germany. After living in the Toronto Beaches area for 40 years, Willy moved to Etobicoke and joined the Seniors' Association at the Stonegate Community Health Centre. He continued to exercise daily, walking, swimming and cycling as long as he was able. Willy moved to Kingston in 2015 to be close to family when Parkinson's disease compromised his independence. Willy was predeceased by his mother, Lina (Mueller) Wesch; and wives, Gisela (Bammert) Mueller, Elizabeth Mueller, and Anna Mielniczuk Mueller. Willy and Gisela are survived by their daughters, Rosmarie (Ken) McGratten, Rebekka Young and Sonya (Mike) Gatto; five grandchildren, David (Emily) McGratten, Karen (Daniel) Hyckenberg, Steven (Danica) Gatto, Tiffany (John) Fortune and Kirstin (Jordan) Rodriquez; and two great-granddaughters, Eleanor and Charlie Fortune. His family extends their appreciation for the care Willy received at Kingston General Hospital for 22 months and to the many others who have supported him over the years. Final arrangements have been made through Robert J. Reid & Sons "The Chapel on the Corner", Kingston, ON. Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Thunder Bay, ON.
