SARAH BETH THERIEN November 1, 1973 - June 17, 2006 In loving memory of our precious daughter, Sarah Beth. We miss you every day and are thankful for the wonderful memories. You live on through your legacy of organ donation, being the first donor after cardiac arrest (Death by Circulatory Determination or DCD), in Canada. Since you became the first DCD donor on June 17, 2006, up until June 7, 2020 there have been 948 DCD donors and 2,080 transplants. Well over 2,000 lives have been saved! A truly amazing legacy! All of this because of something that started with your kindness and caring spirit! Way to go Sarah Beth! Over the last 10 years, the number of DCD donors in Ontario has increased by 200 per cent, thanks in large part to Trillium Gift of Life Network (TGLN), the organ and tissue donation agency of the Ontario Ministry of Health.
