Dear Marcia and Ed:
We cannot imagine what a tragedy this must be for both of you, and her husband and children. We came to know Deborah as a close friend of our daughter Natasha, and, as a guest in our house on multiple Friday nights. I have a memory of the four girls sitting in front of the fireplace playing bridge. It was wonderful to see her at our daughter's wedding, and we continued to follow her academic career through her website, when she returned to Toronto
.
Our sincere condolences.
Paul Morris and Maureen Yorga.

Dear Marcia, Ed, and family,
We know there are no words for the heartache you are feeling at this most difficult time. You and your family lived side of us in Kingston for many years. Deborah was a frequent visitor to our home and we have many special memories of her spending time at our cottage during the summers.. She had a quiet determination about her, she was smart, kind and had a beautiful smile. We were honoured to be at her and Brian's wedding. Our hearts are so saddened by the loss of Deborah.

Dear Marcia,
Please accept my deepest sympathy at your time of loss. I can not imagine how you must feel. We taught together at J.G. Simcoe many years ago. You must have passed on your cooking skills as I remember a wonderful lunch at your home.
Sincerely,
Barbara Weir

I am so sorry to hear this news. Deborah was a talented summer student when I was a Research Associate in Dr Sarkar's lab in the Sick Kids Biochemistry dept. I ran into her a few times over the years at UofT Chem dept when I attended her lectures for high school students or when I asked her to help me out with some aspect of a science fair project. She was clearly a passionate and dedicated scientist. My deepest sympathies to her family and friends.

An extraordinary, warm and brilliant colleague, teacher and researcher here at University of Toronto. Deborah was a beacon whose light will be so very much missed but will continue to inspire. Barbara Sherwood Lollar (Earth Sciences, and Chemistry)
