Bridget BELTON Obituary

BRIDGET ANN BELTON September 4, 1973 - January 27, 2021 Our beautiful Bridget passed away last Wednesday, due to a combination of ongoing health issues and complications related to Covid-19. She was 47 years old. Bridget was, above-all, a family person. She was deeply committed to and grateful for her immediate and extended family, which includes: husband and lead cheerleader, Mark Balaban, and adoring daughters, Maya and Noa; her father and stepmother, Tony and Beth Belton; her in-laws/second parents, Bayla and Steve Balaban; brothers-in-law, Jason Balaban, David Balaban and niece Norah; and revered grandmother-in-law, Miriam Wodlinger. Bridget shared a special bond with her cherished aunt (and second mom) Pegi Dover; Pegi's husband, Phil Jessup, and cousins Beth, Alex and Chris; as well as Uncle Mac Dover and cousins James and Cailey (Thomas Swerdfager and Sofie). She was predeceased by her beloved mother, Lexi Baillie (nee Dover), and dear stepfather/friend, Duncan Baillie. She will be greatly missed by stepbrothers Paul, Robert, and Peter Baillie, particularly Paul (Jannice Friedman and children Aaron and Jesse), with whom Bridget was especially close and who sat by her bedside as she comfortably and peacefully slipped away. Bridget's family is grateful for the outpouring of love and support from their wide circle of friends, including those in Toronto/Riverdale/Leslieville, Go Home Lake, London, ON, and beyond. A celebration of Bridget's life will be held at a later date; in the meantime, the family asks that you give your loved ones a big, warm, drawn-out bear hug on her behalf.

I'm so sorry to hear about Bridget's passing. It's been a long time but I remember her to be a kind and thoughtful person. I'm also sorry to read of Lexi and Duncan's passing. I have fond memories of them. My deepest sympathies go out to the families.

Dear Bridget, your passing leaves a big hole in many hearts but we celebrate your life now by remembering how you brought joy, laughter, warmth and love to countless people, especially to your family who were central to your life.
You loved the cottage at Go Home Lake and the last time we visited many years ago, you and your girls introduced me to “Hannah Montana” and Mark was cooking up a huge breakfast including fried bread. I think that was the last time I’ve eaten that!
Only time will heal broken hearts but we are thankful that you brought a ray of sunshine into each of our lives. Rest in peace dear Bridget.
My deepest condolences to Mark, Maya, Noa and the extended family at this very sad time.

Dear Bridget,

I have fond memories of visiting you and your family the rest of the Dover clan in Canada with my family. For my brothers and I, we had such a lovely time enjoying ourselves in the Canadian summer and having loads of fun with you guys whether it be in Toronto or the cottage at Go Home Lake. Thank you for those wonderful memories, I still remember playing toys with Maya and Noa, and always smile when I see photos of them pop up on your Facebook. One particular memory that sticks to mind is when you told the 3 of us So boys that our Dad used to watch cartoons with you Saturday morning when you were growing up! What a delightful surprise to us all! Bridget, we all miss you deeply and I pray that you are at peace now. God bless you Bridget, love from England, James So

No word can adequately express the sadness I felt when I received the news of your passing in Hong Kong. You have always been a very special "neice" waking me and uncle Mac up by bouncing on our bed in the chalet. You were always caring, loving and kind, never refusing to extend your hands to those in need. The world will be a lesser place without you, yet you will brighten our eternal home and I look forward to that reunion. Uncle Conrad

My daughter Arissa and Bridget were BFF in the mid '70s on Worthington Drive in Oakville. Tony and Lexi were neighbours. We Lost contact over the years. Devastated by the sad news. Still remember Bridget's cheerful and friendly laughter as we three would go to Lick's on the main drag for ice cream. May her soul rest in peace.

My husband and I have fond memories of Bridget as a good friend of our daughter Meredith during their young and early teenage years. It was a special treat to meet up again years later through Artists Play where her daughter and our grandaughters danced together. Such a loss for her family. We are so very sorry
