As my good friend, Judy was one of my bridesmaids after our second year at OCA.
I remember her warmth and sense of humour .
So sorry!

Judy was not just a great artist but also kind and also could be very humorous and witty at times. I met her through shells as I purchased some from her on eBay. A few months later met her at the Sanibel Shell Show. The next year we room together with two other Sailors’ Valentine artists and I was just thunderstruck with envy over Judy’s talent. Perfection would best describe her art. She later came to my home in Flagler Beach, Florida to teach a Valentine class for me and a few other women. I learned much from her but it was the little tips that she gave me that now make a difference in my own shell art. She always sent me emails regularly containing pictures of her current incredible shell art. Her bird pictures were always a favorite. Such talent. I feel blessed to have several smaller pieces of her art hanging on my home walls. You are missed my dear friend Judy. Sanibel won’t be the same without you and your beautiful snd artistic entries!!

I am so sorry about Judy's passed. I live in the same building she lived in. I used to see her in the lobby or in the laundry room. She was always kind. When I use to say hello to her she would return it with a smile. RIP!

Judy was like a mom to me and was always extremely warm and kind to me throughout the 49 years i knew her. As a child i spent countless days and nights in her house with her son and my best friend Christopher and I always felt like another one of her sons. I loved her very much and am very sad she has left this world. As an adult i was always excited. to see her when she visited Nassau and we always reminisced and caught up during those visits. She was one of the most special people I have ever known in my lifetime. An amazingly caring, gentle, warm and wonderful soul.

Unfortunately I met Judy late in both our lives. I met her on social media. We immediately connected. The many emails, photos, facetime calls, all contributed to my learning a skill in which she was very proficient. I am not an artist, just a crafter, but that did not matter to Judy. She was a great coach, always praising and offering advice only when I asked for it. Never denying me an answer. She was funny, entirely devoted to her children and grandchildren as am I so we had that in common. It was not until I read this obituary that I fully realized how incredibly talented she was in many forms of art. I came late to her party but I am glad I did. I hope that one of her own children or grandchildren have this innate artistic ability that carries them to some endeavor. It must be amazing for her grandchildren to realize how far reaching her influence was on people such as myself.
At the moment when I enter my workspace, I am not ready to sit down. We were just ready to agree on a design with the painted bunting center I had purchased from her. Now I feel perplexed. Where to start? How can I do it justice? What colors come to mind? Now I am on my own, really on my own. Perhaps there will be a sign? We shall see. We shall all miss her genuine caring, her artistry, her love of beauty in so many things. I shall miss her friendship.
Love, Boots

Judy was the most talented artist I have ever known. In addition to having so much talent, she was a kind and interesting person, and such fun to spend time with. I was honored to know her and will miss her terribly. My heart goes out to all her family.

Judy was an amazing artist. Always willing to encourage and teach those learning to create Sailors Valentines. Selfless is an excellent
description of Judy. She will be greatly missed at the Sanibel Shell Show.
