Dear Friends of family and Doug,
Thank you all for your kind words and gifts of sympathy to my dear Doug's memory..
Alexa and I still miss him, greatly.
To us as Vern Hink said, he was larger than life in his positive outlook, never ending curiosity and humility.
Thank you all for remembering him, his achievements, his successes and most of all his warm and caring personality.
His loving wife and daughter,
Bev and Alexa

I am sorry to say that I only learned of Doug's passing while I was surfing for his name. Doug and I were both engineering students at McGill. We had best of times In both Barbados and Europe. Both of our fathers worked for Air Canada so we travelled on standbye. We lost track of each other after graduating. I am adding a few photos of of us in our much younger days. If you would enjoy seeing more please e-mail me. It's hard for me to believe that Doug is gone. May your many happy memories help to sustain you.
Sincerely Brian Savidant

Doug was a role model in elementary school and later at McGill. The most creative, enthusiastic and capable kid in the school. Our flying saucer never got built, but it would have been the terror of Dorval. All memories of Doug are good ones.

I first met Doug, Bev & Alexa at Cousin Grant Hink's and his wife Heather's home for Thanksgiving & Christmas Dinners where everyone contributed to the feasts with about 15 people.
Doug was always very modest in his accomplishments and I only just recently learned that he was the President of AECL Technolgies in Washington DC. We had some good chats on business, politics and world problems but were not able to solve them all. Doug left some for others.
It is sad that Doug had a terminal stroke on the day his of his 71st Birthday and passed the following day on February 11, 2021. Life is short. We know not the time nor the hour. Life goes on.
Doug was proud of his small family and all their accomplishments.
Our deepest thoughts, condolences and prayers go out to Doug, Bev, Alexa, Family & Friends.
God Bless,
Brian, Brianne, Paul, Mike, Diane & HannaH - the Dobson Family.

Our sincere condolences to all, especially to Bev and Alexa, but also to Doug’s siblings, his friends, and his relatives.
I didn’t know Doug all that well but whenever we did meet I had the impression of a ‘straight up’ man – what you saw is what you got. Honest, intelligent, personable and likable. A very good combination that obviously led to a very successful professional career.
Doug was like his Dad and his Dad’s siblings - his aunts and uncles. It’s hard to describe. They were so all so confident, so comfortable with themselves, with their time and place in this world, but without the swagger. They all had ‘presence’. Doug was much like that. He was very much a Hink cut from that mold and was too young to leave.
Again, our condolences.
