Michael FINGOLD Obituary

MICHAEL GERSTEIN FINGOLD April 2, 2021 It is with profound sadness and heartbreak that our family announces the passing of, our beloved, Michael Gerstein Fingold. Michael is survived by his adoring children, Cole and Mimi Fingold who will forever honour his legacy along with his former wife, Tara Fingold-Librach (Richard) and his loving parents, Lynne Fingold and David and Ronni Fingold. Deeply cherished by his devoted brother and sister-in-law, Samuel and Jessica, adored uncle to Elle and Harry. Sadly missed by his step- sisters, Catherine Himelfarb Borden (Bruce) and Marlene Shiner and their families. Michael's extraordinary culinary talents brought joy, warmth and comfort to so many during the pandemic and to all those who were lucky enough to experience his company and his cuisine on many meaningful occasions. As a gourmet chef, he was able to realize his true passion and fulfill his lifelong dream. Michael's kind and jovial nature will be forever etched in the hearts and souls of all who knew him. Michael will be terribly missed and always remembered with enormous love. To honour Michael's love of cooking, we kindly suggest that donations in Michael's memory be made to The Michael Fingold Culinary School Scholarship (to be established) at George Brown College, through the Benjamin Foundation at416-780-0324 www.benjamins.ca

Michael’s generosity of spirt, his passion for life and his natural humour, underscored the type of special individual that he was. I had the good fortune of knowing Michael in the earlier stages of my life as a young camper, and then years later, as a fellow Wembley Rd. neighbor to Michael and as an avid concert goer. Michael always brightened my day with the depth of his heart and with his arm around the shoulder embrace.

I would like to express my sadness and my profound condolences to the entire Fingold family. I would like to also express a debt of gratitude for the extraordinary memories that Michael leaves us with.

With love,

I will never forget meeting Michael when we were both very young people, at overnight camp, and the carefree times we once shared. I was deeply saddened to learn of his passing when he was still so young but am happy to know that he was able to realize his dreams in both work and family during his lifetime. My heart goes out to the loved ones he leaves behind. May the thoughts and prayers of family and friends bring you comfort during this most difficult time.
