REED CITY -- Kenneth H. Main, 86, of Reed City, passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at Spectrum Health Reed City Hospital Nursing and Rehab Center.

Ken was born May 23, 1932, in Mecosta County's Millbrook Township, to Harold and Zella (Moore) Main and graduated from Remus High School. Ken served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and attended Flint Barber School.

He married Louise Sarkisian on June 24, 1955. She preceded him in death on Dec. 22, 2016.

He had been a Reed City resident since October 1958 and had been a local barber for many years. He was a member of the Reed City United Methodist Church and served on many committees of the church. Ken was an avid golfer and had also been a Cub Scoutmaster.

Ken is survived by one son, Ken (Mary) Main, of Big Rapids; one daughter, Cindy (Tom) Buss, of Traverse City; four grandchildren, Andy and Lee Buss, and Matt and Sarah Main; sister-in-law, Jenny Main; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Darl Main.

Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at the Reed City United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kathryn Cadarette officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral at the church. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.
