Our condolences to Katie's family. She was a classy lady who always had time for a conversation. I recall Katie as being very interested in our public schools in White County. On several occasions over the years Katie and I engaged in conversations as to how legislative actions impacted Twin Lakes. Her questions were insightful and I believe she had a strong desire to ensure that school children received the benefits they deserved.

To the family of Katie Wolf. I moved to Monticello in the early 1990's and had the pleasure of meeting Katie. She always treated me with respect along with everyone she has met, I am quite sure, and a hug anytime I would see her. She will always have a place in my heart and would bring a smile to my face whenever I saw her. She will be missed but her memories will live on fovever! God Bless you Katie!

I was elected to the Indiana State Senate the same year that Katie was elected to join the Senate. Katie was my friend and my mentor. She was so beautiful, so caring, and so kind until it came to fighting for her district. Then, she was a no nonsense Lady of Steel. She loved her constituents, and she stayed in touch with them constantly. I remember seeing her writing notes to home whenever there was a break in Senate business. I gave Katie the picture of the three women from young girl to mature woman. She admired it, so it was hers. That was a way to thank her for her kindnesses to me. We grew to be even closer friends when we retired from the Senate. Dennis Neary and I began a reunion luncheon club with other retired Senators from the northern area of the state. Katie always came, driving a huge, shiny car! Katie never aged. She was beautiful and elegant every time Bob and I drove up to see her and Buddy. Recently we kept close by telephone. We talked and laughed for at least an hour every time we spoke! Of course, we talked about politics, and she talked about her "kids" and her grandchildren. She loved and treasured her time with you! Katie was one in a million! I love her so much, and I will always keep her in my heart. God speed my friend!
Please let me know when her Memorial Service will be held.

Hanging in my office at work is a note Katie sent to me years ago, when I was named editor of the Herald Journal. In the note, she said she was proud of me. Proud of the work I was doing at the newspaper. Proud of the impact she said I was having on the community. Proud of me for being the first woman editor in HJ history. And, proud of me for being a good Democrat. That note continues to be one of my most prized possessions.
I grew up idolizing Katie Wolf. She was a good friend to my grandmother and a tremendous example to all of her constituents. She had such an air of grace and dignity. I feel so very fortunate to have known her.

I met Katie over 11 years ago when her grandson Mike and my daughter Kate had an engagement party. I was so impressed with her graciousness and kindness, and with her lifelong commitment to her community. She was not only a dedicated wife and mother, but she gave so much of herself to others. What an amazing woman she was! Her accomplishments were many and I feel lucky to have known her even if it was for a short time in her life. She will not be forgotten and she will continue to be a role model to her family and to all others whose lives she touched. Our condolences and blessings to her family and may her memories sustain you during this time of grief. Cathy and Don Barnett

Katie was one of the most honorable public servants I have had the privilege to know. She always did what she knew in her heart was right. Her constituents and the state of Indiana were her priorities and she never failed them. Although she was a fighter, she also was one of the most gentle and compassionate individuals who ever walked the halls of the Statehouse. In addition to her countless good works for others, her legacy will be found in those who enjoyed the blessing of knowing her. Katie's guidance and example made us all better people. What an amazing person Katie was! We all will miss her smile, her kind, encouraging words and her vast wisdom. At least Katie is with Charlie again and, no doubt, she is making heaven an even more beautiful place.

Katie, was a elegant, classy and always 'brim full of confidence'. I knew and worked with her in Democrat Politics, as a colleague in the General Assembly and as a caring Hoosier who believed in public service. She made Indiana a better place and we're all better for having known her charm, smile, warmth and friendship. It seems just like yesterday she introduced me to a crowd of well wishers in Monticello at the age of 90! Miss you my friend.

Mark, Marcia, and families-
I am so sorry for the loss of your Mom. What a lovely lady she was!! While her stature was small, her determination, kindness, and work ethic was huge. She was a roll model for young women in Indiana who
wanted to make a change in the political landscape. But most of all she was our friend, Katie. I will never forget her being with me during a most difficult time. Again, I am so sorry for your loss.
