George Machala Obituary
George M. Machala, 72, of Franklin, NY passed away October 16, 2013 at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta, NY.
He was born March 8, 1941 to George and Helen (Ursiny) Machala in Brezno, Czechoslovakia. Coming to the United States in 1958 he lived and built his American Dream, loving his life of Freedom. First building a house in Georgetown, CT, then retiring from So. Norwalk Electric Works in CT and building a second home in Franklin, NY.
George was a member of the Oneonta R/C Flyers, building model airplanes, and collecting and displaying remote control airplane engines.
He leaves behind his wife of 48 years, Janet Lee Machala; his sons Brian and Eric Machala; his daughter-in-law, Brian's wife, Donna Machala and beloved grandson George Machala, all of Franklin, NY; cousins Linda Seaman and Robert Machala; in-laws Ron and Andrea Lee, Doug and Syl Lee, David and Linda Lee, Mary Lee, Diane and Richard Collins, Linda and Pat Kerin and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service at the convenience of the family will follow in the spring.
